We are the Wallowa Valley Youth Soccer Association.
Our mission is to use the game of soccer to provide inclusive opportunities for the youth of Wallowa County in a safe and fun environment. We are focused on developing sportsmanship, teamwork, and individual skills for each player. Our programs also aim to strengthen our community by promoting active lifestyles and volunteerism.
*This section is under construction - new board members have joined the team and will be listed soon.
Jeff currently serves as the WVYSA board president. He and his family moved to Wallowa County in 2009, and the WVYSA was his first volunteer gig after moving here. He has been a WVYSA board member since 2009, and has coached youth soccer since 2003. Jeff and his family live outside Enterprise, where his oldest child graduated from High School in 2016 -- a path also being followed by two children still at home.
Maria has served on the Board since 2011. She has coached with the league for 7 years, including leading the “Little Kickers” program. Although Maria and her family moved to Wallowa County in 2008, family roots run deep, and they feel blessed to live on her families’ 100+ year ranch. When not volunteering, Maria works full-time for Building Healthy Families where she teaches Alternative Ed and enjoys providing fun and educational opportunities for the youth in our community. She, and her husband Jeff, are the parents of two soccer loving girls and one mischievous chocolate lab.
Enterprise City Manager
Jeff has been the Enterprise City Manager since 2016. Before serving on the board, he coached four seasons. He and his family have lived in Enterprise since 2005 where he works as a fish biologist for ODFW, and his wife teaches elementary school. His two sons play in the soccer league. In addition to being active in several other sports in Wallowa County, the Yanke family loves being outside, especially on the river and on the ski slopes.
